The Xiaomi Redmi Pad is currently available in three versions: SE, Pro, and regular. However, none of them support 5G technology. That will soon change, as CEO Lei Jun revealed that the Redmi Pad Pro 5G variant is currently being developed and has now also surfaced on TENAA.
The model number of the slate is 24074RPD2C, where the "C" stands for China. There are now two more variants identified as 24074RPD2G (Global) and 24074RPD2I (India).
With the exception of connectivity, the 5G version is anticipated to have the same specifications as the current Wi-Fi only model. This includes a 12.1" 120Hz IPS LCD, a 10,000mAh battery with 33W charging, and a Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset.
The Redmi Pad Pro 5G is shown in a picture provided by TENAA, although not much can be seen. Furthermore, since the specs only state that the battery is 4,900 mAh (it's possible that this is one cell of a dual-cell battery), they might need to be updated.
According to Lei Jun, the 5G model will support Network Sync, just like its Wi-Fi sibling. Network Sync allows you to connect your tablet to your phone's hotspot with just one tap, but it is obviously much more helpful for tablets without built-in 5G modems.
Xiaomi typically chooses model numbers that match the release date; for example, the Xiaomi 14 was released in December of 2023 and has the model number 23127PN0CC (hence 23.12...). The Redmi Pad Pro 5G's model number, 2407..., points to a July release.
